Tango 59° puts great emphasis on the quality of its DJs, something which to us is an absolutely central factor in making the milongas a superb experience for all tango dancers.

Mario Orlando

Mario Orlando is indisputably the most famous tango DJ in the world. He plays regularly in all the most prestigious and well-known milongas in Buenos Aires, but he also appears in a number of underground and alternative places. We are extremely proud to present, for the third time — and as the only European festival — Mario Orlando to the Tango 59° audience. This is a unique opportunity to meet and dance to the music of a true DJ legend, one who defines the very art of tango DJ:ing.

Tommaso Fiorilli

Tommaso Fiorilli, one of the most prominent DJs of Europe, is the resident DJ of the milongas “La Tangueria” and “Les Bains” in Brussels. He has played in several leading international festivals including the Copenhagen Tango Festival, the Festivalito in Zürich, the Brussels Tango Festival, the Palermo Summer Tango Festival and many tango marathons such as the on in St Anton in Switzerland. He says that his goals as a DJ are simple: to adapt to the floor and build up an atmosphere, simply by playing good music for dancing.

Peter Bengtson

Peter Bengtson is one of the most active and appreciated tango DJ:s in Scandinavia. A trained classical musician and internationally active composer, his emphasis is on danceability, nerve, rhythm and flow, and he is well-known for being able to sustain the energy on a dance floor for extended periods of time. He finds tango DJ:ing remarkably similar to composing — although with 3-minute building blocks rather than individual notes.
